Tough economic times have prompted casinos to offer some rare deals, like $25 all-day buffet passes, buy-one, get-one free room rates and more than half off show ticket prices -- but Luxor’s newest deal may raise the bar.
Luxor is calling its new promotion “all-inclusive,” modeled after the packages many tropical resorts offer.
The all-inclusive package includes a room, all you can eat at the buffet, two tickets to “Criss Angel Believe,” two tickets to “BODIES…The Exhibition,” two tickets to “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition,” two day passes to the Nurture spa, two VIP passes to LAX and Cathouse, and check-in at the VIP lounge.
The package runs for $210 a night (upgrades are available with more expensive rooms) with some cheaper nights scattered in, until the end of the year. A two-night minimum is required.
Technorati

They could save more $$$ on the bottom line if they just dumped Criss Angels show.........of the things on the list one gets in the package, the Angel show is the one I could care less about.
This isn't just an anti Angel rant......most of the shows on the strip I could care less about........Celeine Dion?? No, Cher?? no thanks, Fator, please, no way.
Deals like this are the only way to attract visitors that have many options for the dwindling entertainment dollars.
The problem is think what this does to state revenues. They are going down faster and faster. Cutting expenses is the only way this state will make it, the Reid/Obama bailout will not save this state. You cannot spend your way to prosperity, that really was just a hope.
Excellent concept! It is to their credit include a complete food pass like the cruise lines - wish I had thought of it.
All day buffet passes? Are you kidding me?
Where do I sign up? I just live down the street, heck... I'll be there in 5 minutes. I'll air out my house for a few days and give it a rest.
You can give the rest of the package to the needy, I just want that food and have someone else make my bed.
The Luxor is reaching back to Las Vegas' roots.
When there was a time that just about everything in town was free as long as you where a player, and no need for the comp. cards of today.
As for myself I have a handfull of comp cards which I use as a dossier when I am gaming, and there once was a time when I checked to see what my reward was when I was in Macau- Just wanted to feel the system, and they said " a bowel of Soup" at Red-8, imagine that. I play 100k a day for soup, when the med. yearly income is 45k, wow sign me up. Good thing I don't depend on any of that stuff to base my amusement on.
Bravo! to the Luxor for a change in the right direction, at least now some of the deception has been removed from the ploy of the card.
ya, but that buffet at the luxor...unless they have REALLY upgraded it...is not a good buffet.
looks like the message is finally getting through to the golden parachute club that vegas is NOT recession proof and it better get some deals out there to get people to come to town and STOP with the $8.00 coronas.
you're ripping people off and then you wonder why you aren't getting any play at the slots.
Stop ripping us off and WE return by 1000 fold..
Just got back after spending a week at the Flamingo. Few suggestions... please go back to your roots. Get rid of the monstrosities like CityCenter, it's awful & blocks the gorgeous view! Bring back $5 minimum bets, 3 to 2 blackjack pays, and 9/6 video poker. I can get better odds at my local riverboat! Lose the "Beverly Hills with casinos" mentality. Vegas was built on the millions of middle class gamblers and NOT the few whales, but I suppose the big corporations forgot that. Where are the "Dons" when you need them? I love Vegas & always will but the corporate greed is going to be the downfall of the greatest city in the world.
I recently did the Excalibur all you can eat all day deal. It was great. We didn't have to wait in line, so we went back as often as possible. They are a great idea. The only problem was that we had to wear those hospital bracelets all day. I created a web site for families visiting Las Vegas, since I've had both good and bad experiences there with kids. The site is at http://www.familyfriendlylasvegas.com.
I just got back from 3 nites at the NY,NY. Unlike the 80's when I first started going twice or more a year the slots are literally DRY....I watched my friend pump ove 1400 dollars over a couple of days and get back about 200 ... I only watched..In the old days the slots would give you you enough to keep rolling. Now they are tied to a pc that says No to every pull. I will not be going back to gamble ..maybe to sight see .but my money will NOT go to gaming...Time for Vegas to say BYE !!!!and be re-invented or disappear
I agree, rpl2001. The slots are tighter than they've ever been in the past decade. No only do you lose it, but you lose it quickly. I don't expect to break the bank when I play, but I do expect to play for a little bit of time. Corporations and their monopolies are ruining the LV Strip. You can still do OK downtown...
comp-cards suck, just give the room away throw in free food and drink and 1 show a night and your casino will be full 24/7 these greed mentality that these hotel corporations have is a loseing game.
I'll have to try that $25 all day buffet. The last time I went to Vegas, my budget was something like this: round trip Greyhound fare from L.A. $58, half price show ticket to "Scarlett Princess of Magic" $20, food $40, gambling on penny slots $10. I arrived at 2 pm and left at 1:30 am, so I spent nothing on a hotel. I never thought I'd see the day when the Peppermill restaurant would become one of the cheaper places to eat in Vegas.
I agreee with the post from Chitownrik Las Vegas needs to look back to its roots. Hang on to what is left of old Las Vegas such as hotels such as The Sahara, Riveria, Flamingo, Tropicana etc renovate them and bring back a little of what the old strip was like in the good old days. Though resorts like The Mandalay Bay, Venetian, Bellagio(Love the Fountains!)etc are beautiful and are cities in within themselves , they will never have the special style and character that these old ones have. They offered cheap , but good dining, reasonably priced entertainemnt with style and class, not to mention thesedold Hotels/casinos had the best Neon signs on the strip! Saharas and Flamingos are still the best too. Vegas needs to stop building these monstrosities such as City Place which are going bankrupt anyways ( Look at Echelon Place where the elegant "Stardust" was it apparently has stalled and having financial problems too) and they are ugly and block the views like "Chitownrik" stated in their post. Las Vegas needs to renovate what they have and bring back a bit of the old strip.
I love Fremont St and go down there often when in Las Vegas to enjoy a bit of nostalgia. The historic Golden Gate(circa 1906) is awseme! Was just there last week and enjoyed their famous shrip coctail too for .99.
So hats off to the Luxor for attempting to bring back something reasonably priced to Vegas.
At $210 a night with a bunch of junk thrown in - doesn't sound like a 'deal' to me at all.
yeah, i agree - 210 is too much. And that buffet at Luxor....nasty.
My wife and I spent the new year at Luxor. This is the first time we have ever been given comps. I continue to get offers from Luxor and Mandalay. We just got one for 2 nights free at Mandalay. We plan on going in May. Looks like MGM is really pushing to get people in the casinos and hotels. Great job!
I too was offered free room at Mandalay Bay, But the scam is "only based on your play during and after the stay" Read the fine print! unless you lose your butt on the tight slots -you will pay for the room one way or the other. Its not the free "comp" rooms I get all over. Too many strings attached with some of these so called free rooms. So I've decided (we visit several times a year) that for the money and good time Excalibur is the good deal. And we used to stay at Luxor but were very dissapointed last visit.
I'm an Atlantic City regular and agree 100% with the above posters who have stated that the slots have become so "tight" that it's next to impossible to get any returns. Speaking for AC, pay-outs (even just reasonable amts.), time on machine, cash backs are all a thing of the past! I can't see how the casino execs. don't see that slamming their loyal patrons like this just can't be good for business.
I'm heaed to Vegas in a few weeks and to the Flamingo. Glad I read these posts about how your slots are as bad as ours...I'll be coming as a tourist, not a gambler!
I'm ALSO coming out from A.C.
Posters - Give me the REAL scoop on the current win percentage in Vegas.
P.S. Look out Las Vegas! - this "j-man" guy has a reputation for big time action !!!

My wife and I are travelling to Las Vegas in May 2010...and maybe I can get some inside info from any of you locals on when the Luxor will show some discounted rates for that month via internet. Calling them gets me nowhere due to the fact they want you to reserve "now"...but I know better then to take that advice.
Any advice from Las Vegas locals on when hotels shoot out their discount deals would be appreciated :-)
Too bad there are just crap shows at the Luxor, and I can eat out for less just some yards down the street. If at least I could choose tickets for the good MGM shows like KA or O... well thank you, Luxor. Thanks, but no. I can have a better time for less.
Vegasbound: Here is some advice for your Vegas trip. Go over to the Orleans. They are a locals casino which is located on Tropicana Ave off strip on the other side of the Interstate 15. The machines there are very reasonable for payback, the table games have 5.00 minimum bets after hours on weekends and all the time Sun-thurs. the comps are reasonable and rooms are large and comfortable starting at $59.00 per night. The food is cheap, but good. The place is clean and friendly. Get yourself a players club card while there for more benifits (cash back etc.) That's your best bet in town! Enjoy!
