The Gaming Control Board approved MTR Gaming Group’s sale of the venerable Binion’s casino to Terry Caudill, who owns the nearby Four Queens casino and the Magoo’s slot bar chain, for $32 million.
Binion’s made little to no money under MTR, which made some minor upgrades and has attempted to establish a major poker tournament there.
Caudill expects to boost profit by renovating rooms, adding cashless slot machines and entertainment venues and further renovating the casino – a formula that worked at the Four Queens.
