Findlay College Prep’s trio of basketball players was bumped out of the FIBA U19 World Championship on Friday in Auckland, New Zealand.

Canada, boasting guard Cory Joseph and power forward Tristan Thompson, were bounced out of the quarterfinals by the U.S., 93-73.

Joseph, the floor leader for the Pilots who will be a senior in 2009-10, had a down game, finishing with nine points, on 4-for-11 shooting, collecting three assists and three steals, and turning it over four times.

Thompson flourished, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in 34 minutes, but he only shot 4-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Puerto Rico was belted by Croatia, 91-78.

Center Carlos Lopez, who helped Findlay win the first National High School Invitational over Oak Hill in April and will start playing at UNLV in the fall, had 10 points and 7 rebounds.
