Cory Joseph is becoming a star at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.
The Findlay College Prep guard rang up 20 points in Canada’s 67-57 victory over Argentina today, and the 3-3 Canadians get the U.S. (6-0) in a Friday quarterfinal at the North Shore Events Center.
Joseph also had four rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes.
His longtime buddy and Findlay teammate Tristan Thompson had seven points and six boards in 20 minutes off the bench.
Their former Pilots teammate Carlos Lopez, who will play at UNLV this season, had five points and seven rebounds in Puerto Rico’s 99-71 smashing of Egypt.
The Puerto Ricans (4-2) play Croatia in another quarterfinal Friday.
