Rudd leads Findlay to 70-26 victory in Florida

Findlay College Prep defeated South Lake (Fla.), 70-26, in the first game of a tournament in Montverde, Fla., on Thursday.

The Pilots, who were led by senior forward Victor Rudd’s 27 points and 10 rebounds, improved to 22-0. Junior point guard Cory Joseph had 11 rebounds and 7 assists, and UNLV-bound center Carlos Lopez added 10 points and 7 boards.

Junior power forward Godwin Okonji grabbed 11 boards. Texas-bound guard Avery Bradley, who has been battling a severe cold, tallied 12 points.

Findlay, which plays games in Montverde on Friday and Saturday, is ranked No. 2 in USA Today’s national Super 25 poll, behind Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.

The Monarchs improved to 21-0 on Wednesday night, but Stanford-bound guard Andy Brown injured his left knee after dunking in a 102-57 victory over Servite. Test results of his knee will be known today.
