Topless Pool, No Party

Now that state gaming control and local business license officials are getting around to cracking down on “lewd” behavior on the Las Vegas Strip, they may want to take a look at the Clark County ordinance governing so-called European sunbathing.

The ordinance permits topless bathing at designated adult pools but specifies that no special events, contests or parties are allowed. In other words: Enjoy the scenery, just not too much. Attorney Frank Schreck, who negotiated Planet Hollywood’s stipulated $500,000 fine last week with the Nevada Gaming Commission, said after today’s taping of Face to Face that he helped county officials draft the ordinance allowing topless sunbathing. His client at the time, Caesars Palace, envisioned a sedate and elegant European-style pool. But, Schreck admits, given promotions that advertise floating beer pong and topless volleyball games, most adult pools today would be out of compliance with the no-partying mandate.

Also on today’s show, author Jack Sheehan says the annual porn convention he visited at the Venetian is a hotbed (pardon the pun) of illicit live sexual activity that goes unchecked. Tune in tonight for the startling details!
