World’s No. 1 poker player wins £7.3 million in two nights, but top London casino refuses to pay

Britain's oldest casino is investigating a £7.3 million win by the world’s top poker player — and is refusing to pay him a penny. Crockfords, the exclusive Mayfair gaming club, has informed the Gambling Commission that it is withholding Phil Ivey’s payout.

  1. i would of like to read the article here but only received 2 sentences. the link above brought me to what, i assume. was the original article (mailonline). when reading THAT article it referenced 'chemen de fer' was a 'variant of baccarat' but later in the article it stated the odds were 'marginally better than roulette'.

    first, i can not believe phil ivey would play any game with 'simular odds' than the horrible game of roulette. i would assume he traveled half-way around the world to play this game because he had some kind of advantage (maybe a system or an 'inside tract').

    i hope we find out the truth. if we hear about a court hearing/law suit filed by phil or if he 'lets it skate bye' i guess we will find out the real story.

    we have read a lot about the 'worlds best poker players' getting caught in scams of cheating the 'on line poker world' out of their money for millions so i guess i am a skeptic. i would like to know how this story ends.
