I was on vacation when this was in talks and I met a couple from Detroit. They told me that if the industry wasn't saved, tens of thousands of parts-makers, restaurant people, and obviously, auto-workers would have been unemployed overnight. Pres. Bush wasn't my favorite guy, but I believe he and Pres. Obama made the right call on this one.
