Detroit businessman Don Barden, one of Detroit’s business elite who was the first African American to own a Las Vegas casino and the first to own a major cable TV franchise, has died, according to the Detroit Free Press. Barden had been fighting lung cancer and died early this morning at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit. He was 67. "We extend the state's sympathies to his family," Gaming Commission Chairman Peter Bernhard said at Thursday's commission meeting.

Hey, Paul, stay classy!
Uncalled for Paul, show some respect please.
I had the pleasure of hosting a business meeting between Don Barden and Jay Z a few years ago.
Mr. Barden was a really nice and great man.
RIP..

Typical liberal comment by liberal moron Paul Gelsman.
I grew up in Vegas, leaving 35 years ago. When I visit Vegas, I usually stay at the Fitzgeralds, it is a good deal. RIP, Don Barden.
