Funny they scream broke. Yet no one wants to raise there gaming tax here in Nevada 6% to 8 %. Gaming in Nevada lowest in the world yet they will open a casino where they charge 25% gaming tax and they don't bitch about that tax. Funny. Been here 41 years years the assembly and senate here in Nevada bought and payed for by gaming. Got everyone believing the trickle down effect.
Another casino they won't know how to manage.
Obviously figmo has never owned and operated a private business.
Why should they give more of THEIR money to the government? The government did not make any of the money, did not create any of the tax paying jobs, did not invest and risk their own money....so why should they be entitled to more of it???
I Can not beleive that Boyd is buying another casino. The gaming board should require they finish the Echelone before they can buy any other properties (no matter where they are located)
If they put that $278 million towards finishing the project they already started,(Echelone) it would not only help them, but it would put a lot of Las Vegans back to work and it would help the Las Vegas economy, and it would finish that total eyesore on the strip.
I can not believe Boyd is allowed to do this. Our state government nor our gaming board have any balls. Stand up for Las vegas and say NO to Boyd!
Thomas,
You seem to be forgetting that a civilized society, especially one of this size, is really only possible BECAUSE of government.
The government builds and maintains the roads, bridges and navigable waterways, enables power generation and infrastructure, educates the public, protects citizens and business from fire, pursues and prosecutes criminals, settles legal disputes, and protects our borders.
Without government no one would have any business anywhere. Government ENABLES business, not vice versa. Without government our world would not even look like "Little House on the Prairie" but more like "Lord of the Flies".
noinnex Well I guess you can read and write how did you learn that skill. Paying taxes to have our children know how to read and more. Casino's do NOT pay there fare share I pay more taxes in percent than they do. Yes I owned a business jackass. That is why I retired at age 54 how about you. Work to day you die.
