Looks like Obama has coached his buddy Harry on how to play politics Chicago style. Seems a little heavy handed, if not flat-out illegal, to try to intimidate employees to vote for a particular candidate. Maybe some of these employees feel their jobs are at risk if they don't vote for Harry. Of course the EEOC won't look into it because they are only supported by the liberals.
So?
National Review is a Fascist publication of the ultra right!
Lets talk about the political pressure being placed on employees by other theme based Casinos!!
Once again, it shows Harrah's is trying to get employees to vote but there is no way to know when they go in the booth, who they voted for.
So? So, you say?...Mr. Glad...you are well aware of the answer to your question, but I will assist you anyway...the means do not justify the end, Mr. Glad...electioneering is borderline immoral...intimidation is immoral and illegal...
Sorry for forgetting a 'd' Mr. Gladd...
Chunky says:
MGM and Murren did the same!
That's what Chunky thinks!
Companies can't "push" people to vote for a candidate. I worked for a very large pharma company for 30 years and we were encouraged to vote for what was best for the co's business (Republican), but you vote for whomever you want to once you enter the booth.
I'm suspicious of the source of this info. NRO is a GOP journal which supports GOP candidates. They are not Factcheck.org

>>>>The article does NOT say Harrahs was intimidating employees to vote for a particular candidate. Even if Harrahs tried to do that, how would they know who the employee voted for? In your wingnut book employers encouraging their employees to vote and bussing them to the polls must be wrong and illegal, but churches telling their congregations who to vote for is okay and perfectly legal. Telling people NOT to vote, and mailing "death-panel" flyers, well, you probably agree with that, too.
Bluejeans, you obviously failed to read the email by Batjer which specifically endorses Reid. That is employee intimidation with a smoking gun.
How can this be news to anyone? The SEIU bought Harry Reid many years ago, and they still own him...
Station Casinos had mailed a pamphlet on whom they endorse. I detest Corporate America even suggesting who I should vote for. From the comments offered, it appears many gaming companies are in favor of Harry Reid. It appears they have no confidence in Sharron Angle to lead. An opinion for which I concur. Therefore, on this one issue I side with Corporate America. Otherwise, Corporate America can go to hell with their recommendations.
There is nothing wrong with urging your employees to vote. There is something wrong with telling your employees to vote for a specific candidate or they wont get a raise of keep benefits, like who the stupid GOP did in ohio.
You can go look up for yourself and see who is dropping big $$. Also some that say they are one party but give a lot to the other.. hmm?

Sounds like the crew should stay out of what they tell their employees about their right to vote..unless you are here illegally, I would bet EVERYONE knows that today is critical to "clean house" with the nitwhits in Washington...I think Mayflower Moving has a special on right now for Harry and his family...
To those of you who are self-righteously complaining about Harrah's and MGM, did you complain about the information in this link? Heck no, you did not.

If whoever leaked those emails thinks his/her IT department can't find out in a second who did it, they're CRAZY....
Besides, my company put out a huge thing with the health care bill - how awful it was etc... I didn't see anyone crying over it.
Doesn't sound like intimidation anyway - business's endorse candidates all the time, usually it's Republican candidates - hmm... could that be the problem????
I work for Harrahs and did not vote til today. I can say that my supervisor or anybody else tried to force me to vote. The only things I saw were fliers around the building offering rides to early voting. Trust me, I am not someone who supports most of their policies. The accusation that they tried to influence any votes is hilarious.
I mean DID NOT try to force me to vote..... Sorry
harry's union and casino buddies will be expecting thier payoffs. you watch, the unions will get some big money kicked thier way. none of which the workers will see. suckers
It does not matter, Harry is now nothing? He will be replaced, his friends are all gone, and he will be a lonely old man.
Teabaggers crack me up!

All the HUFFIN&PUFFIN and busses cannot stop the train of common sense. All the mis-directed money in the world (US) could help many good people that really would like to work. All the un-truths spoken by and for whatever politico stinks, let's all grow up. Hey, Colorado hang in my guess is you are needed.
Looks like Sharron Angle won after all. People should be going to federal prison for the rest of their lives, including Harry Reid.
I'm calling on an immediate boycott of all Harrah's Casinos.
harrahs did nothing worng here they never had signs for either candate and never posted pro or cons of candates.
the only thing they did was give shuttle rides and lunches so people can go vote early and turn out the vote
there is nothing wrong with that its 100% legal.
those shuttles and lunches where used for anybody wantting to vote no matter if they are rep dem or indi
Come on people grow up you all remind me of a boss that i had who walked around ready to fire people because Obamma won the election. Do you really think we would have been better off with "Its not my job Angle" or 41 to Angle. The lady was a joke and is a joke.
And as far as the person from Colorado goes good luck. And we wont miss you. I lived in Nebraska and the way you all treat people is crazy and i know that from personnel experience. So stay in Colorado and let Nevada and Las Vegas be better off without you. Congratulations Harry.

And THIS is why some of those TeaBaggers were elected. People are SOOOOOOO gullible. And yes STUPID. Don't listen to what you read in the newspapers all the time - do your OWN research! If you can spend time posting on a LV newspaper website, you obviously know how to operate a computer. So use it to better yourself and not believe the BS.
Encouraging and assisting their employees to participate in democracy -- how UN-AMERICAN.
What would you expect of an outfit that would not only hire Jan "Airhead" Jones but put her in an "executive" position. It's not about ability, it's about politics!
