New polling out today show former Nevada Assemblywoman Sharron Angle surging to a lead in the Republican Senate primary, a rapid rise that establishes her as the frontrunner heading into the vote next Tuesday. A new Suffolk University poll of 400 likely Republican primary voters shows Angle leading with 33 percent, with businessman Danny Tarkanian pulling in 26 percent and former state party chairwoman Sue Lowden taking 25 percent. The poll is the first showing Lowden falling behind Tarkanian, although the two are still within the 4.9 percent margin of error. Find the full Washington Post story here.

Reid will be O.K.
The voters will be getting campaign reminders of what the Bushies did to this country.
With health care passed, and the economy turning (slowly) around, the voters won't be looking to go back to the right wing Gibbons/ C Street Ensign types who brought us down this path!
Witness the Republicans siding with Wall Street in the next great debate on financial reform. This is gonna be a boon for Senator Reid and many Democrats!
Republicans = party of NO WE CAN'T!

Your VERY correct xtra about the NJ race, and anything can happen here....the only difference is that Sen. Reid was written off for dead
He is one of the most powerful men in the country and I'm not so sure that Nevadans are going to be so quick to throw that away by electing one of a couple of empty skirts.
I am also mindful that Ensign is still represents us and Gibbons is our Governor. Nevadans can do better.

Lowden would do better than Angle vs. Sen. Reid in the general election -- but not that much better. The D-Kos poll shows Reid has pulled ahead of all GOP challengers.
I wonder how the boys over at the RJ are taking this news? Many months ago Sherman Frederick III was touting polls that showed Lowden crushing Reid. He was jumping up and down like a six year-old so he probably wet his pants from all the excitement. Poor Sherman -- his endorsement is the kiss of death.
Well we know that Stuart and Robert are not interested in skirts of any kind, unless they're worn by a Scottish marching band. But I agree that Harry is the best choice this year. Go, Harry...
Angle is the only individual who is "true" to herself. I do not like Angle but will vote for the only "true" person.
Politics and money...enough already. Campaign reform is what Americans demand! Two terms then go back to your real job! Or one term.....?
I am so thankful for Sue Lowden showing us her true side before we voted. Her attack on Angle's support of a nonprofit group that took on the arduous task of rehabilitating convicted hardened criminals is just too much. Lowden obviously cares very little for those who are actually trying to help others. I have met people who have made it through that program and they are now helping others. It was the hardest thing those guys have ever done. A spa? Come on now. Lowden's endorsement of her hate ads show more of her than she expected.
I never thought Angle would make it this far. At this point, I would not be surpised if she does kick Reid's butt in the race.
Would someone please explain to me why Harry has raised a good amount, if not the majority, of his warchest from sources OUTSIDE of Nevada? Could it be that if he were restricted to Nevada donors only he would not have nearly as much?
Just who will he represent if he wins in November?
Harry Reid will have an easy win.
We will never forget the damage republicans
have done to our economy.
Harry Reid is doing a great job.
I think this whole race shows what a brilliant strategist Harry Reid really is.
Even if Sue "chicken for checkups" Lowden was the nominee that made it through the primary and went against Reid in the general election, she'd still be a formiddable candidate.
However, Reid's campaign machinery (along with several verbal gaffes from "Suicidal Sue") may have had the original goal of getting the Republican candidate Sharon Angle to become the Republican nominee for the general election. If this occurs, we might as well just give Reid the election because for those out-of-staters reading this, Angle is not your typical "Republican" in any sense of the word. She's way, way, way out to the right and has had a lot of crazy ideas over the years, to the point where even most Republicans think she's kind of a lone wolf type.
Reid probably already has a ton of ammunication against Sharon Angle for the general election. It's quite easy to find; just read about any newspaper article about some of the weird things she's done or tried to do over the years. She's done less weird stuff over the last few years because most people have ignored her since she was out of public service. Before that, however, there's a lot of ammo.
Methinks that Reid's recent statements that he's "scared of all three" (referring to any of the three Republican challengers of Sue Lowden, Danny Tarkanian, and Sharon Angle) is part of a carefully scripted message that is designed to deflect discovery of what his true strategy really is.
If Sharon Angle is the Republican nominee, Reid will have to be strapped down with extra weights because otherwise, he'll probably jump five feet straight up in sheer joy and relief, knowing that he probably already has at least an 8-10 point lead on Angle.
Bye Harry!
As a bipartisan voter, Angle is just a little TOO conservative for me, where I could see myself voting for Tark or Lowden.
make that non partisan
Get out the popcorn, the Republicants are about to decide on Harry's November opponent.
Big, big decision ... hmmmmm ... .
If you think Harry Reid is going to lose to any of the yayhoos the republic party has put up, you're only fooling yourselves. To vote out the most powerful U.S. Senator for one of the republic party wannabees to start out at the bottom of the seniority list would be beyond stupid. Won't happen if Nevadans have any sense at all. Cackle all you want but at the end of the day, Harry keeps his seat.
moogie is 100% correct.
Sioux's chickens for checkups gaffe...
It will live in political infamy.
Certainly changed the course of this election.
Give em HELL, HARRY.
