As Gov. Jim Gibbons works to build a re-election campaign, he is facing the possibility of a public trial in his contentious divorce from first lady Dawn Gibbons. Court records show the couple remains locked in a bitter fight to end their 21-year marriage. Divorce proceedings have dragged into an 18th month, according to a Reno Gazette-Journal report. As they continue to argue over such things as paying for vet bills and their adult son's $3,700 class ring, legal fees are piling up and the potential for a high-profile trial threatens to derail the modest progress Jim Gibbons has made to rehabilitate his image with voters, the Gazette-Journal reported.

I say we put it on T.V.
Mrs. Dawn Gibbons and Ms. Chrissy Mazzeo are both quite photogenic.
Throw in the smilin' Governor on a few ad billboards, and hey, we'll make it a Nevada-Exclusive-Event.
Sell advertising time for all the new casino openings. (pro-capitalistic, idea, wouldn't you say?)
Let's make some money off this guy while we can.
What's the over/under on this, anyway...?
"Modest progress"? Yes, as Churchill would say, and he has a great deal to be modest about.
Wizard,
That is a great post.
I am still laughing.
Do you know if the lov guv is still not paying taxes on his ranch in Elko?
Must be nice to buy a $3700 class ring! I have two degrees and I had to "settle" for one that cost a lot less. Oh yeah, I paid for my OWN college degrees!
No divorce trial should be dragged through the public domain. The contentious nature of it is enough to make a bystander puke.
The public's right to know must prevail! Broadcast the trial on Pay Per View. Proceeds go to help the zillions of unemployed.
Even though the trial hasn't started broadcasting yet, I already know my favorite episode: the one about the deranged ferret in the phone booth.
What's your favorite? Inquiring minds want to know!
My favorite episode would have to be the big "Caribbean Cruise". Maybe Dawn wants some of what Governor Gym received. Maybe she has videos!
Both parties deserve privacy and personal rights. It's the law.
