I think 25 percent support is even overstating it a little.
70% of Nevadans disagree with Jim Gibbons and think he is doing a terrible job. That is almost as bad as Bush's disapproval ratings.
I guess that is why jfnance32 thinks Gibbons is doing a great job!
Not that many have confidence in the legislature either.
From the poll:
"Who do you trust more to pull Nevada out of the budget crisis, Gov. Jim
Gibbons or the Legislature?"
Legislature 33%
Gibbons 25%
From the article:
"Despite a months-long effort by Democrats, led by Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley, to educate voters on the dire financial situation of Nevada's core services, the poll indicates that more Nevadans side with Gibbons' rhetoric on the tax debate. Nearly 60 percent said raising taxes would worsen the unemployment rate and halt an economic recovery. Another 59 percent said a tax increase would pose a substantial burden on their family or business. Fewer voters appear convinced by the Democrats' rhetoric. Only 32 percent agreed with the statement "Nevada does not adequately fund essential services such as education and health care and taxes should be increased."
I'm glad the people of Nevada have much more faith in the Legislature to fix the problem. They have given the Legislature the mandate to fix our economy.
No one trusts Jim Gibbons anymore. Well, present company excluded, jfnance23.
That makes perfect sense that ksand99 would equate 33% as a mandate.
Makes perfect sense.......be sure that wipe off that koolaid stain after you are finish with that bucket of koolaid.
Buckley has a big big mandate.....hey Buckley can you hear me under that rock?
ksand99 and Buckley are so ashamed.
Do they demand a billion in new taxes in this very harsh economy?
or
Do they admit that there will be hundreds of millions in budget cuts in the budget?
Is it getting crowded under that rock?
Yes, when you compare the favorability ratings, the Legislature clearly has a more favorable rating, thus giving them a mandate to fix the problem.
I guess jfnance32 doesn't want our Legislators to do their job. He is one of the 25 percenters who love love loves what Jim Gibbons is offering.
The people of Nevada trust the Legislature to do our work. Three out of four Nevadans laugh when they hear Jim Gibbons name. That's awful.
33% vs 25%.....according to ksand99 that is a MANDATE.
A mandate to do what exactly?
They did not run on raising taxes.
They still refuse to say what they are going to do.
A guess they are going to use their 33% mandate to hide under the rocks.
Let's face it: NevaDUH is a black hole for politico intelligencia on both sides.
Goober de Gubber is trying very hard to beat Reid's 14%; but Reid is pretty selfish about all his accomplishments so he won't give his title as "Worst" very easily.
Unless we get some pics of the Gubber in bed with Ted Haggard or something, Boss Reid will win this losers' contest.
Comparing executive vs legislative offices isn't apples to apples unless you compare individuals. If you just lump the whole legislature's approval it might be worse, might be better. The thing is that most people hate legislative bodies, but they love their senator/rep.
Out of 600, 150 approved of Gibbons?
They must have called Nance 150 times.
199 trust the legislature more to pull Nevada out of the budget crisis.
They must have called theBS 199 times.
