A California family has sued Las Vegas Sands, LLC, Venetian Casino Resort, LLC, and Manpower Inc. over the theft of their moving truck from the Venetian's secured parking lot. In 2006, the Krzystons packed their belongings into a 26-ft Penske moving truck and left Chicago for a cross-country move. En route to California, the family stopped in Las Vegas and stayed at the Venetian, where they were directed to park the truck in a lot specifically for oversized vehicles and assured the lot was guarded around the clock. Manpower Inc. was responsible for security at the lot. When the family went to the lot the next morning they discovered the truck was missing. The emptied truck was later found parked in front of a downtown hotel on Christmas Day of 2006. Months later, police used a decoy U-Haul moving truck and surveillance equipment in a sting operation that led to an arrest and the discovery of 17 storage units packed with stolen goods.
