Sunday, May 18 may have set a precedent for the summer to come in Las Vegas. At 104 degrees, Sunday was not only the hottest day of 2008 so far, but was also the hottest May 18 since 1973 breaking the previous set record of 103 degrees. Forecasters have predicted more record-breaking temperatures to befall the valley throughout the week and the National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning to all of Southern Nevada in response.
