Gibbons: 'I thought she was having a heart attack'

(via ) · July 17, 2008 · 6:54 PM

KTNV-TV is reporting that Gov. Jim Gibbons, who recently filed for divorce from his wife, explained he was embracing another woman in a parking lot because he thought she was having a medical problem.

The Nevada Appeal, Carson City's newspaper, published photos of the governor hugging ex-playboy model Leslie Durant in a Reno parking lot.

The governor told KTNV: "She had chest pains, it was radiating down her back and she could not catch her breath. She was crying and she did not know what was going on, she sort of had anxiety. I thought she was having a heart attack. I put my arms around her to convince her that she needs to go to the hospital."
