Radioactive waste: Dump it or use it to fight cancer?

Should radioactive waste be dumped at Nevada's Yucca Mountain or should more of an effort be made to consider the beneficial use of it to fight cancer?

Discover magazine blogs that the Uranium 233 breaks down into two isotopes that have "great potential" in treating cancer because they can be used to more directly kill individual cancer cells than standard radiation treatment using gamma rays.
