G.E. owns NBC. They are a major producer of weapons of war. They should not be allowed to limit the range of the debate broadcast on the public airways.
Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel are the anti-war candidates, and G.E. has a clear conflict of interest in this matter.
I see nothing wrong with this. People need the media to let them know who is viable, and who they should be making their selections among. Otherwise, they may do something that's bad for the government.
horatio
Are you kidding me? You're saying that you're going to let the media tell you to choose from 3 candidates because everyone else is? Tell me this: if you were hiring someone for a job, would you rather have five applicants or three? Would you choose them for their qualifications or because their picture was in the paper? If you don't like Kucinich because of his policies that's one thing, but don't tell me you wouldn't vote for him because you'd rather vote for someone who will win. I mean seriously, where did you learn about democracy from? It's very simple. You pick the candidate that you believe will do the job best. If that's your goal, then you want to hear as much about everyone running as possible.
Sorry plastictree, I was just kidding. Your response was surprisingly civil given that you thought I was serious.
Anyway, mainstream media has lost its credibility with me this election, not that it wasn't already on its way to doing so beforehand.
Ok, I feel pretty dumb. It might take me a while to get this foot out of my mouth. It's at least nice to know that others out there that are as disappointed in the news as I am.
Maybe Kucinich wants to monitor the Recount in New Hampshire to ensure the counting is done without any mishaps. In this age of Indentity Theft, it is a shame our media is not talking about how computers can hack voting machines and change their totals. I hope HBO ais their documentay "The Stealing of Democracy" again, showing how this is done.
Nah, plastictree, I was hoping for a response, no need to feel dumb. I was deliberately being an idiot.
Yeah, the mainstream media is intellectually and ethically bankrupt.
As a Republican supporting another low-tier candidate (Duncan Hunter), who has also been dropped from the debates, I think it is wrong. They should not be able to pick and choose the criteria just to leave one candidate out. The people deserve to hear each candidate. I hope they let Kucinich in.
