The US Air Force Thunderbirds have fallen under investigation from the Pentagon due to a promotional $50 million contract that was found to be corrupt. According to the Associated Press, three Air Force officials are particularly being scrutinized within the investigation and one in particular even more so. Maj. Gen. Stephen M. Goldfein commanded the Air Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base and was in charge of the Thunderbirds at the time that the contract was carried out. The contract was investigated once before in 2005 when it was suspected that Gen. Moseley and other Air Force officers attempted to provide the contract to Strategic Message Solutions without looking for bids.
