WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid gets a shout out with a TV ad going up Wednesday in Las Vegas touting his leadership moving a renewable energy agenda in Congress.

The ad compares the energy overhaul underway to the building of the Hoover Dam that brought jobs during the Great Depression. It will run through the week.

"Senator Reid is leading the charge for smarter, cleaner, greener energy -- energy that uses Nevada's resources and creates good-paying Nevada jobs where we need them most," reads the script.

The ad comes as Congress begins tackling a series of energy-related bills.

The ad is from Americans United for Change, the liberal group that pushed for President Barack Obama's economic recovery package. The group ran ads last month urging Republican senators who were against the bill, including Nevada‚s Sen. John Ensign, not to be "dittoheads" by following radio's Rush Limbaugh's opposition.
