UNLV prof to help First Lady at food bank

WASHINGTON — First Lady Michelle Obama was expecting a little help this afternoon at a local food bank from congressional spouses and kids, including one UNLV professor who happens to be married to a Nevada congresswoman.

Tom Wright, husband to Nevada Democratic Rep. Dina Titus, was in town to help Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, vice president’s wife, at the Capitol Area Food Bank.

The first lady and Jill Biden invited 160 congressional spouses and children to help assemble food bags this afternoon for the 1,000 students who participate in the “Food for Kids” program.

Wright is a professor of Latin American history, has been teaching online this semester, traveling between their home in Henderson and their townhouse on Capitol Hill.
