Californians arrive just in time for early voting

‘Morning, Sun readers. It’s Friday! Not that it matters much for this reporter: with the general election 18 days away, it’s all politics all the time – including the weekends. Early voting starts Saturday for those who want to cast their vote and tune out until ballots are counted Nov. 4.

But don’t be surprised if a Californian knocks on your door. They’ve invaded the state – as if enough of them aren’t here already – to get folks to the polls for Obama. As the Sun’s Mike Trask reports, their state is true blue so they’re trying to impact toss-up Nevada.

For those who are undecided, there have been plenty of debates. Read all about them:

Clark County Commission candidates

The Heller-Derby race

The state senate debates between Copening and Beers, and Heck and Breeden

A little behind the scenes of those debates.

And Jon Ralston’s take on the them.

  1. I guess ACORN has already submitted the Califorians' registrations to vote.

I am guessing for each Califorian that ACORN probably has sign up them at least 10x's.

  2. jfnance needs to get a life rather than sit on her and make silly comments about every article.

  3. no, no, no - "vc" - you are wrong -"jfnance32" illuminates the debate with the sheer stupidity of a schoolyard bully with racist/heritage undertones. Believe me - a lot of people who are racist hide behind the ACORN mess and lob verbal rockets against progressive ideals and ideas. It is interesting to watch the First Amendment at work - so to speak. So, you go Jfnance32! Keep up the good work by keeping all us liberal commies on our pink toes!

  4. O.K. NEVADANS - it's time for you stop with the old, tired excuses, put down the remote control, get out of the lazyboy recliner, on your feet and out the door to VOTE and VOLUNTEER!

I am tired of trying to explain your personal malfunctions, or how dysfunctional Nevada is, to the out-of-state people who come here to help (many at their own expense) - it's pathetic that we have neighbors that care more about Nevada than some of the locals!

So stop with the exuces! We know you're busy, you're tired, you're overwhelmed, you've got kids, and/or grand-kids, and bills to pay, and mouths to feed (including pets), and laundry to get caught up on, and house-work, and the cactus need your attention, and the car needs a good wash, and on and on and on - those of us that are vounteering have all those same concerns as well - it's about getting your priorities set!

It's YOUR VOTE, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR NEIGHBORS, YOUR FRIENDS - so, do YOUR CIVIC DUTY!

Because ain't no one gonna' do YOUR RESPONSIBILITY for you - YOU BETCHA - Wink!

  5. I agree with NevadaFive, but don't limit it to jfnance32. With few exceptions, the right wing posts on this site essentially racism repackaged in a more socially acceptable form.

Thankfully, thoughtful republicans are jumping ship, at least this time, and only the truly dumb are being swayed by the hateful rhetoric or Corsi and crew, as exemplified by jfnance32. These people would vote republican no matter what.
