Tony Schwartz, creator of the famous "Daisy" ad of 1964, is dead.
The famous ad showed a bomb blast as a way to stir doubts about Republican candidate and Arizona Sen. Barry Goldwater, who had mused about using tactical nukes in Vietnam. For an extended discussion of the ad and some other notable ones in history, see this piece I wrote in 2004.
To see the ad, go here.
It's a cool site with every general election ad going back to 1952. Some fun and funny stuff.
