Nevada's congressional leaders gathered to address how funding for Yucca Mountain has negatively impacted the people that work there.

Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, Sen. John Ensign, Rep. Shelley Berkley, Rep. Dean Heller and Rep. Jon Porter set aside partisanship differences to write a letter to U.S. Sec. of Labor, Elaine L. Chao. They requested that the 63 workers laid off from their jobs at Yucca Mountain due to funding cuts be awarded smooth transitions into other jobs.
