Here's the response out of Barack Obama's camp:
“We’re proud of the campaign we ran in Nevada. We came from over twenty-five points behind to win more national convention delegates than Hillary Clinton because we performed well all across the state, including rural areas where Democrats have traditionally struggled. The reason is because tens of thousands of Nevadans came out to say that they’re tired of business-as-usual in Washington and ready for a President who can bring this country together, take on the lobbyists and special interests, and end the politics of saying and doing whatever it takes to win an election. It is the kind of politics that feeds our cynicism and distracts us from taking on the real challenges facing America – an economy that’s left working families struggling, a broken health care system, and a war in Iraq that must end.
“We ran an honest, uplifting campaign in Nevada that focused on the real problems Americans are facing, a campaign that appealed to people’s hopes instead of their fears. That’s the campaign we’ll take to South Carolina and across America in the weeks to come, and that’s how we will truly bring about the change this country is hungry for.”
Obama campaign manager David Plouffe:
“We currently have reports of over 200 separate incidents of trouble at caucus sites, including doors being closed up to thirty minutes early, registration forms running out so people were turned away, and ID being requested and checked in a non-uniform fashion. This is in addition to the Clinton campaign’s efforts to confuse voters and call into question the at-large caucus sites which clearly had an affect on turnout at these locations. These kinds of Clinton campaign tactics were part of an entire week’s worth of false, divisive, attacks designed to mislead caucus-goers and discredit the caucus itself.
“We will investigate all of these thoroughly and would encourage anyone who had concern about actions at the caucus sites to call (866) 675-2008.”

Keep up the good fight Obama!
For every vote that someone casts for Clinton, there will be at least one or two who will just never vote for Hillary.........unfortunate as it is, it's fact.
What a poor attempt to spin a loss.
Due to our state's faulty math, when there are two delegates, and the Clinton votes outnumbered Obama 2:1, the delegates were split.
This was a clear loss to Obama. Further, Clinton won with over 50% of the vote, something Obama has not done.
I can not speak of other locations but in Boulder City every candidate and the rights of every voter was treated with utmost respect and fairness. I consider his remarks a personal insult to me and all the other participants in the process who are my neighbors and who I know conducted themselves with absolute integrity.
I am personally outraged by the suggestions of Mr. Plouffee that any of us has done anything in violation of the rules of caucus or that was not fair and just. Indeed as a close observer and participant in the Nevada Caucus process I find that it has been the Obama campaign that is constantly inciting racial divisiveness that undermines the prospects for victory by the Democrats in November against the republicans, regardless of who our candidate is.
One only need read the vitriol of on line posts directed by Obama supports against Hillary to see who is really conducting a campaign of false attacks and hate. Is this the politics of change that is being promised by the Obama Campaign? Is this the politics of uniting us as a nation when you are directing so much hatred against someone who has done so much on behalf of the democratic principles we all hold sacred?
For those who take the time to understand the at-large issue they will see that it was manifestly unfair and un democratic to give a special privilege to one group of voters compared to all other voters as was done on behalf of the Culinary Union. The fact that the Obama campaign and the Culinary Union turned it into a racial issue is outrageous and reprehensible. Shame on Mr. Plouffe.
zb
Now the flip flop.
I have read many reports of culinary workers being intimidated as well. Some say they had their Clinton cards taken away from them or snatched out of their hands.
Lick your wounds and get over it. Barack Hussein Obama is appearing to be a Presidential whiner.
I'm a precinct leader for the Obama campaign and worked the caucus today. At our caucus location, Clinton people were turning voters away with erroneous information about where they should go, many of our constituents received phone calls from the Clinton campaign giving them erroneous information about their caucus location and at our location, they refused to let anyone on line after 11:30, when caucus rules state people can line up until the doors close at 12:00. They also ran out of Preference cards turning people away saying they wouldn't/couldn't be counted because all the cards were gone. I don't know how many Obama supporters were turned away by all of this.
Once again, the Clintons can't compete on merit, so they lie and cheat. If that's the kind of President the American people want, they might as well elect George Bush again.
This caucus was a travesty. It was like an election held in a third world country, not in the United States of America. We can't even get a recount because they ran out of Preference cards, thereby invalidating any paper trail. The American public needs to be informed of what really went on and it's encumbent upon the media, who reports what a candidate ate for breakfast, but isn't reporting this gross injustice. Why are we not hearing about this on CNN??????
It makes me sick that the "talking heads" are commenting about what a wonderful organization the Clintons have, when no one I know ever even got a phone call, piece of literature or had a canvasser knock on their door by the Clinton people. The only thing they were skilled at was lies and misrepresentation. Dr. Phil always says, "The best indicator of future performance is past performance"...and we all know how Bill didn't inhale or have sexual relations. Come on people....wake up and smell the Clintons!!!
In my precinct the secretary was letting Obama supporters in after 1145 in which of course the secretary was an Obama supporter. Now the shoes on the other foot and the Obama camp is whining unfair practice, WELCOME!!! Wake up, Obama lost even with the support of the 2 largest unions in NV.
Though I am not an Obama supporter, I have to say that I expected more from his campaign. I understand they have to spin this, and I think it is fair for them to make it clear that they were far, far beyond a few months ago and have make a considerable amount of progress and given Senator Clinton a real contest. It is just ridiculous, however, that they are being so incredibly ungracious. There have been many reports of voter supression at the caucus sites and President Clinton has been commenting about these for a few days, why did the Obama campaign never make a comment? They thought it would benefit them, that's why. And that's fine, that's politics. But now he is just being a sore loser. She won, and not just by one or two percentage points, but she won by 6 percentage points. That is decisive. And I am willing to bet if their was foul play on one side, there was foul play on the other. I don't think any of it ads up to a change in who is the decisive winner. Cut the arrogance, get humble, and campaign your heart out if you really want this Senator Obama. And STOP playing the race card. As a minority, I was extremely offended by UNITE HERE's spanish language advertisement that suggested "SEnator Clinton does not respect our people." She is not perfect, but I have no doubt that she respects "my people." That ad was disrespectful to the entire Hispanic community. As Dolores Huerta said, "Como se llama?" Obama?
Most precints ran out of pledge cards today because of the high turnout, However That didnt change the head count, you either had the bodies or you didnt.. and other precints turned scraps of paper into pledge cards. This just sounds like a lot of sore losers to me.
If the Obama precint captians didnt have the brains to do what all the other precints did then thats nobody's fault but their own.
NOBODY was turned away from our caucus.
And our doors stayed open till 12 noon, later then most because the chair has the right to close the doors at 11:30.
Obama still lost.
The reigning confusion at todays caucuses is not the fault of EITHER candidate.
Nevada normally has a very poor turnout for caucuses and many were overwhelmed by the turnout, and supplies ran out quickly.
It may have been chaos, but it was fair. the people stood for who they wanted. and that is what really counts at these events.
if you guys are thinking, then you should be thinking about the following:
remember clinton's argument that the location of the caucuses on the las vegas was unfair, and that votes cast there would be counted for more than those cast elsewhere. remember the-one-vote-per-person line advocated so angrily by bill clinton. now, since the majority of the voters on that strip voted for the clintons, does bill still believe that those votes were unfair? does he still believe that they counted for more than others? of course not; after all, the clintons thanked the voters for voting their conscience.
those voters moved from having unfair voting advantage to having great conscience!!!!
what a bunch of hypocrits!!!
