Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton made a last-minute pitch to Hispanic voters this morning on Univision.
Both candidates appeared on the Spanish-language television station this morning and made 15-minute statements.
Obama went on at 9 a.m. and reminded voters of his father's immigrant heritage. Clinton appeared at 9:30 a.m. and talked about her start registering Hispanic voters in south Texas.
The two campaigns confirmed their plans about 11 a.m., bumping other scheduled speakers from the hourlong campaign show.

SAY NO TO BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA AND YES TO HILLARY/EDWARDS!!!!!!!!!
Girly_Girl: That's really pathetic. Yes, Barack's middle name is Hussein. What's your point?
Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton.
Why doesn't anyone know Clinton's middle name?
Why does Barack's matter?
Get a life.
Why is it that John Kerry, Senior Sen. Patrick Leahy, and even Ted Sorenson, President Kennedy's Special Counsel & Adviser, and primary speech writer-- the same guy who wrote "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country", all support and have endorsed Obama? Why is it that Al Gore is rumored to soon support Obama as well.
Do you think these seasoned political vets, with numerous years of experience under their belt, and with reputations to protect, would endorse Obama if they did not have good reason? Do you think they would just blindly choose Obama, without seriously scrutinizing his past and his record?
If you do, then you really need to turn off CNN and start reading more.
And why did these same figures not support Hillary. if Hillary is such a great candidate, such a great leader, if she is so about change, if she has so much experience, then why wouldn't they endorse her. Hasn't she been a US senator longer, and worked closely for longer with many of these people?
If you want to know why, then why not watch them explain in their own words. I think your eyes will be opened up -- http://youtube.com/watch?v=ReDCmk2c2g8
Despite what these candidates try to do, truth will always trump lies. I site my sources so that the intelligent among you may follow the sources and judge them for yourselves. My claims?
1. Obama has been fighting for the common man since his earliest years, and has won praise as a skilled negotiator. He really does believes in non-partisanship as a way to operate better government, and a presidency under him would not leave republicans or independents out. -- http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/...
A listing of his record is at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obam... -- everything at wikipedia is well cited, and any claim can be followed to it's source.
2. Hillary Clinton's hilarious assertion that she helped pass the Children's Health Insurance Program was the biggest lie this whole campaign season. Senator Ted Kennedy, democrat in a partnership with Senator Orrin Hatch, conservative republican, wrote the bill and sponsored it together. True bipartisanship. This was in 1997 people, Hillary was not in office at the time, she was a first lady living under the Monica Lewinsky scandal. So how did she help pass any legislation? Lol, talk about taking other people's credit. -- http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.ht...
The AP just wrote a story about how Barack Obama has more experience than the Clintons are willing to give him credit for. Obama's accomplishments are more substantial and varied than Clinton suggests. And he has a longer record in elected office than she does, as a second-term New York senator.

Girly_Girl is so blinded by her feminist ideals and ignorance that she cannot see what the country needs. I am also female and I won't let my sex guide me during any election. She needs to see beyond her sex and decide on what best for the U.S. and the world at large that is watching this event play out. Just like a person named Ricardo Rodriguez did not choose his race and name neither did Obama. He is just as good and had similiar experience that a minorty had. Ricardo Rodriguez is just as = to Obama. That is what Obama wants you to know.
jfnikki: Gee who are you going to vote for since Clinton lists Reagan as one of her favorite presidents?
Hillary like Reagan:
http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/rich...
"Ronald Reagan of course died in 2004. And when he did, he was praised "for the way he personified the indomitable optimism of the American people", a statement issued by - you guessed it - Bill and Hillary Clinton. (Not that anyone should hold it against them, it was a eulogy after all.) Krugman decried Reagan's tax policies, but did have this to say: "Still, on both foreign and domestic policy Mr Reagan showed both some pragmatism and some sense of responsibility."

But no president can do it alone. She must break recent tradition, cast cronyism aside and fill her cabinet with the best people, not only the best Democrats, but the best Republicans as well.. We’re confident she will do that. Her list of favorite presidents - Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Truman, George H.W. Bush and Reagan - demonstrates how she thinks. As expected, Bill Clinton was also included on the aforementioned list.
There is no voting block the Clinton's - excuse me - I mean others - are not wiling to blemish -- (multiple clinton precinct captains in Iowa had to resign for forwarding the smear Obama emails)
Before they are done everyone will be at each other's throats - this is just th begining
Seven Unaffiliated Jewish U.S. Senators Release Letter Condeming Obama Muslim Smears
By Greg Sargent - January 19, 2008, 12:21PM
\The Obama campaign is really doing its damndest to puncture the false Obama-is-a-Muslim smears before they take hold. In the latest move, the Obama camp released an "open letter to the Jewish community" today from seven Jewish U.S. Senators condemning the smear.
The key is that none of the Senators has yet endorsed a candidate in the Presidential race.
"Over the past several weeks, many in the Jewish community have received hateful emails that use falsehood and innuendo about Senator Barack Obama's religion and attack him personally," reads the letter. "Jews, who have historically been the target of such attacks, should be the first to reject these tactics."
The signers are Senators Carl Levin, Barbara Boxer, Ben Cardin, Russ Feingold, Frank Lautenberg, Bernie Sanders, and Ron Wyden. Full letter after the jump.
Separately, we'll be blogging the returns from the Nevada Dem caucuses and the South Carolina GOP primary throughout the day today right here at Election Central. So check back for frequent updates.
An Open Letter to the Jewish Community:
Over the past several weeks, many in the Jewish community have received hateful emails that use falsehood and innuendo about Senator Barack Obama's religion and attack him personally. As Jewish United States Senators who have not endorsed a candidate for the Democratic nomination, we condemn these scurrilous attacks.
We find it particularly abhorrent that these attacks arc apparently being sent specifically to the Jewish Community. Jews, who have historically been the target of such attacks, should be the first to reject these tactics.
We won't dignify these falsehoods by repeating them in order to refute them. Instead, we will express our outrage at these tactics, which are being used to demonize a good and
decent man and our friend and colleague. Attempting to manipulate voters into supporting or opposing one candidate or another based on despicable and fictitious attacks is disgraceful. These false and malicious attacks should not be part of our political discourse.
All voters should support whichever candidate they believe would make the best president. We sincerely hope that Americans will make that decision based on the factual records of these candidates, not false charges circulated by anonymous mass emails.
Sincerely,
Carl Levin
Barbara Boxer
Ben Cardin
Russ Feingold
Frank Lautenberg
Bernie Sanders
Ron Wyden
