Governor, when will it stop?

Chancellor Jim Rogers was none too happy with calls by Gov. Jim Gibbons for 5 percent budget cuts. Now the governor is calling for 8 percent reductions, and Rogers was quick with his response. Read it here: Chancellor Jim Rogers’ response to budget cuts (PDF)

Rogers wants to know if the latest call for cuts is "a worst case scenario or whether we are in the midst of a series of amputations."

"It would be extremely helpful for us to understand where, in this freefall, you would consider calling a special session of the Legislature to utilize the Rainy Day Fund or consider new and additional sources of revenue before making additional cuts in the System budget that literally eviscerate our institutions," Rogers wrote today.
