The Tea Party Nation is postponing until October its Las Vegas "Unity Convention," which was supposed to take place in July. The change was first reported this morning by TPM, and is also announced on the group's website.
The change could give tea party favorite Sharron Angle, the original keynote speaker for the convention, a much needed spotlight on the eve of the general election.
But the delay also protects her from a national stage at the critical time she is under-going her general election metamorphosis. Angle has spent the past several weeks mostly avoiding mainstream media outlets, granting interviews to only conservative talk show hosts.
Tomorrow she is expected to be on Jon Ralston's Face-to-Face, her first lengthy interview since the primary election.
Interesting strategy, probably a good one. Even more interesting is that she speak with Ralston.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Angle will handle herself. It will go a long way if she can speak well, whether people agree with her or not. (I will not make comments about Harry Reid and dialects. I will not make comments about Harry Reid and dialects. I will not ..... )

It sounds to me that Sharon and our former gov,Sarah Palin have been comparing notes, I wonder if Sharon has a book deal in the works. Hopefully the people of Nevada are ready for what they get if they vote for Sharon. You people might want to think about that before you vote. Good Luck
Be interesting to see how many ways Sharron Angle will try to not answer Jon Ralston's questions, deflecting them into some hyperballistic meltdown tyrade against Harry Reid. This is what she always does. She don't come up with solutions to problems, only ways to whine and complain, say no, and go into this rabid chihuahua attack dog mode at the mention of Harry Reid. But when you confront her about her stance on Social Security and other nonsensical things she said before, she does this incredible tap dance.
To grumpyman58: That's all we need. Another nutball conservative writing a book and spewing vile hate and idiotic reasoning, and in the process, making money off of it. There's too many of these idiots writing books already. That's all you see in the book stores.
I had some fun in a book store recently. I picked up a book that had that goofy Glenn Beck on the cover. I glanced at it and gave it an under hand toss in a round waste can next to a counter (there was no clerk around...I checked). And if anyone caught me, I would just calmly explain that it was misfiled and I wanted to put it in its proper merchandise rack. Anyways, some people saw me and cracked up laughing. No one told on me neither.
It might well boil down to illegal immigration. Angle will vote "No" on amnesty bills, but should be powerless to "personalize" social security or affect our drinking habits.
If the moderates and independents see Angle in that light, then Reid will probably lose this November.
Personally, I think Harry wanted Lowden. All of his attacks on her looked a little too much like he didn't want to be thrown in that briar patch. It was his bad luck that Lowden screwed up a lot earlier than anyone thought she would.
But given that this piece is on Ms. Damon's blog, and still factual at that, I can't find fault with her for not mentioning Reid.

I'am not a Liberal, however I'am an American and it becoming quite clear to me where a certain group of people is trying to take our country and scare me to death and I'am not afraid of anything.
It's a slippery slope we can not afford to start going down. Rewriting the constitution to denie people who are born in this country their constitutional right to become citizens is wrong.
Taking the opportunity to trash a prior Supreme Justice to humiliate a nominee is cowardice at best and show a lack of forward thinking.
All, I can say if this is the direction this party wish to go, then I better take the next fork in the road.
Since the Democrat Party took control, we've had huge problems our country hasn't seen before...ever! Our debt as a nation is now equal to what we can produce. Unemployment still skyrockets. Businesses are going under. Millions of Americans lost their homes because they can't pay the mortgage. Tax revenues are down because less people are working. Yet Obama keeps spending like a drunken sailor and Harry Reid goes along with it. Trillions of dollars going down the drain -- a lot of it going to political payoffs. We're in a downward debt spiral. This is a disaster.
We need new people in the congress who can stop the president from spending us into bankrupcy. Harry Reid has to GO!! Ms Angle is more conservative and she has a lot more common sense than old Harry -- he's turned into a typical what's-in-it-for-me politician.
It has really been delayed until october because sharon angle is missing in action. No one can find her. She is hiding because she knows she is too stupid and radical to answer any questions. She is toast.
Tomorrow, Harry Reid will be at the Searchlight Nugget in the restaurant taking questions from 11 am until 2 pm. He's also buying everyone lunch and inviting question from the audience and the press. He will also have an expert in green energy who will be installing solar panels on top of everyone's SUV. The photovoltaic kind and the people installing them for free are being paid by the stimulus money. You know it's part of the 41,000 jobs Harry has saved and or created. If you bring in a piece of coal you can get a free car wash from recycled water. Harry will then give everyone a check for $1200.00 to stimulate the economy. The check will be worthless, just like the US currency is now thanks to the socialist twins, Harry and Barry. And don't worry, Harry says if the check is worthless, he will have the Treasury print more. Geitner firing up the presses right now.
