A Las Vegas guide to Father’s Day

If you're looking for fun things to do with your dad over the weekend to celebrate Father's Day, Las Vegas offers a lot — from barbeque festivals to fights to even fishing.

Below you'll find some of the top activities being planned by various businesses, casinos and organizations for the weekend.

Saturday, June 20:

Cannery Casino & Hotel’s Eighth Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival: The Cannery Casino & Hotel presents the Eighth Annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival featuring Marcia Ball, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, John Lee Hooker, Jr. and Ironing Board Sam. In addition, summer barbecue fare, as well as handcrafted beers and ciders will be served up by several of Las Vegas’ best restaurants and breweries.

Father's Day at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area: Spend Father's Day at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and make the most of the summer's first fee-free weekend on Father's Day weekend. Enjoy picnicking, camping, fishing, swimming and boating with your family.

The Ultimate Fighter Finale at The Pearl: If your pop is into no-holds barred hand-to-hand battles, you might take him to The Ultimate Fighter Finale featuring the top four finalists from TUF season 9's battle between the United States and the United Kingdom. In addition to those fights, you can also catch matchups between Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez and Clay “The Carpenter” Guida and Nate Diaz and Joe "Daddy" Stevenson.

Vino di Lago at Lake Las Vegas: Wine enthusiasts and those wishing to learn more can experience wines from vineyards across the country. Guests will stroll through The Village visiting the many stores (and wine stations). The Vino di Lago wine-tasting event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada.

Sunday June 21:

Father’s Day Scotch and Cigar Experience at The Ritz-Carlton: The Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas presents the Father’s Day Scotch and Cigar Experience in the Lobby Lounge terrace.

Dads get in free to the IP's Auto Collections: If you're looking for a unique gift for dad this Father's Day, check out The Auto Collections at Imperial Palace where fathers can peruse the extensive collection of 250 antique, classic, muscle, famous and infamous cars valued at more than $250 million.

Father's Day Brunch at Wolfgang Puck's Gourmet Café: You can treat your dad to some healthy fare at Wolfgang Puck's Gourmet Cafe during Father's Day Brunch from noon until 4 p.m. Rick Arroyo will provide some Latin jazz.

Father's Day at Benihana: Give dad a meal he'll never forget with the special Father's Day menu at Benihana. Watch the show as the chefs prepare Benihana Rainbow Salad, Hibachi shrimp, Hibachi chicken and steak, plus Benihana ice cream selections including creamy plum wine, green tea and orange. Dads can also enjoy complimentary sake.

Father's Day specials at Hash House A Go Go: Hash House A Go Go, known for their oversized portions and tasty treats, will put a smile on dad's face on Father's Day with their specials. Dine on Papi Chulo Hash, peanut butter and banana pancakes with whipped cream, crispy pork tenderloin quesadilla and Felix’s “Front of the TV Meal”- 14-ounce house-roasted Certified Angus Beef prime rib with au jus, served with griddled horseradish mash and fresh grilled corn.

Sugar Daddy Party at The Bank: On Father's Day, you can find your sugar daddy at the Sugar Daddy Party at The Bank at Bellagio, hosted by Patti Stanger of Bravo's Millionaire Matchmaker.

  3. I have 5 sons (23 to 40). They are wonderful men, yet I can't remember a Father's Day when I heard from all 5 of them. Usually 2 send cards, 1 calls, and 2 are silent. Wouldn't it be nice for our kids to be considerate? I look forward to the day after Father's Day each year. That means I have 364 days before I have to have my feelings hurt again.
