A 44-year-old man was killed early this morning in a one-vehicle accident near the Rhodes Ranch Golf Club in southwest Las Vegas, according to Metro police.
The name of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not yet been released, pending notification of relatives, police said.
The accident happened at 12:25 a.m. today on Pine Shores Parkway, 578 feet east of Painted Mountain Drive, police said.
Evidence at the scene indicates the 2006 Ford U-Haul moving van was traveling west on Pine Shores Parkway when the driver "exited onto the roadway," police said in their report.
"Due to the vehicle being in motion, the driver was struck and dragged underneath," police reported.
The vehicle then hit a block wall and stopped.
The fatality accident, which is still under investigation by Metro police, is the 53rd so far this year in the Las Vegas area.

This a very Sad day for me. I knew this Man my whole life. When i got the news of one of my best freinds had left me, I was deeply sadden. My prayers go out to the Family.
I was just thinking about the time we went half on a 1972 Ford LTD. We would travel at least 75 miles to go fishing everyday. Dam I wish we could do it again. He taught me how to drive my first car. It was a 1966 Ford Mustang. I did not know how to drive a manual car when I bought it and he already had one so he drove it home for me. I am going to miss my best friend.
