Sexual assault suspect arrested in California

FBI agents arrested sexual assault suspect Roy Trost in Venice Beach, Calif., today.

Trost, 19, was arrested on 13 charges including sexual assault with a weapon, first degree kidnapping, robbery with a deadly weapon, sexual assault with a victim under 16 and burglary with a deadly weapon, Metro Police said.

Trost is alleged to have assaulted two women, one of them a teenager, about midnight Sunday in the parking lot of Desert Springs Hospital, police said.

Detectives with Metro's Criminal Apprehension Team learned that Trost had left Southern Nevada and gone to Venice Beach. They contacted the FBI, whose agents arrested him earlier today.

The investigation into the case continues, police said.

  1. the FBI? What the heck is the FBI doing involved in this case? Seems the FEDs have WAY too much spare time on their hands lately!

  2. JJ, the FBI investigates crimes in other countries. The FBI can be called in if someone from another state throws a rock through your window. They use the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution.
Speaking of the Constitution, have the Texas "authorities" infringed upon the rights of the members of the FLDS Church?
    I believe so.
The actions were taken because of a purported telephone call. Was a call even made? Could it be that the person that reported the call was lying? This situation is bothersome. Our religious freedom is being eroded.
But then, Janet Reno's action of killing the children at Waco did prevent them from the possibility of being sexually molested.
