Metro Police are searching for a 5-foot-8 man wearing jeans and riding a black bicycle who was hired as a day laborer at a home east of downtown Las Vegas where a woman was found beaten to death on Friday.

The day laborer may go by the name of "Bork" or "York."

The husband had gone to a local store for supplies and when he returned, found his wife dead from a beating to her head and lying on a walkway leading to the back yard of a home in the 4400 block of East Steward Avenue, police said.

Homicide detectives said that the couple had hired a day laborer to repair the home.

When the husband returned from the store he discovered his wife's body and the day laborer gone. He called police about 10:23 a.m.

The identity of the woman is being withheld until family is notified. An autopsy will be conducted by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro's Homicide Section at 828-3521.
