Motorcyclist who died in crash identified

A 63-year-old man riding a 1994 Honda motorcycle who died after a crash Thursday in the southeastern part of Las Vegas Valley has been identified as Richard Byron Poindexter of Las Vegas.

Metro Police traffic investigators said that 59-year-old Roberto Soborido of Las Vegas was traveling south about 2:51 p.m. Thursday on Mojave Road in his 2008 Toyota Corolla when he turned left to go east on Spokane Drive.

The motorcyclist hit the passenger side of the Toyota and was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he was pronounced death, police said.

This is the 66th traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
