Metro Police released photos this afternoon of a man wanted in connection with the violent beating of an elderly woman in a stairwell.
The man attacked and robbed the woman at about 2 a.m. on May 21 in a stairwell near the area of Flamingo Road and Arville Street. Police said the victim had left her job shortly before the attack occurred.
Investigators said surveillance video shows the man passing the victim in the stairwell before returning to the victim and meeting up with her again. He then repeatedly punched her in the face and head, police said.
The woman fell to the ground and the man took her purse and left the scene.
Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call Metro Police at 828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
