A shootout between two cars in the southwest Las Vegas Valley this afternoon has left one man dead, one in critical condition and a third with injuries still at the scene, Metro Police spokesman Officer Jose Montoya said.
Police received a call shortly after noon from one of the victims in one car, who said he had been shot at and was taking his friend to a local hospital, Montoya said.
They went to St. Rose Sienna Hospital on Eastern Avenue, then the victim was taken to University Medical Center's Trauma Unit, where he died, Montoya said.
The second victim is in critical condition at St. Rose, and a third shooting victim is still at the scene, where the second car drove to a fast-food restaurant at Tropicana Avenue and Fort Apache, Montoya said.
A second call from a citizen described how the second car drove to Tropicana and Fort Apache, Montoya said.
"At this time, we do not have a motive for the shooting, whether it is road rage, drugs or gangs," Montoya said.
Metro's homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting, Montoya said.
