A dead man with a bullet wound to his head found in a storm drain Monday night has been identified as 17-year-old Joseph Lopez of Las Vegas.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the teen today, but has not released the official cause of death.
A worker placing barricades on a street near the drain on Tropicana Avenue near the 215-Beltway about 6:18 p.m. Monday noticed a sports jersey at the bottom of the 8-foot drainage ditch, Metro Police said.
Police investigators who arrived at the drain learned from someone that gunshots had been heard in the area about 6 p.m.
