Sahara's $1 rooms
To complement its $1 blackjack and $1 drinks, the Sahara will soon be offering $1 room rates.
Starting this month, Sahara will be offering $1 rooms through its Twitter and Facebook pages. The hotel-casino will release a link and booking code to its followers during random 24-hour periods each month.
The offer will be available for both weekdays and weekends but is based on availability.
Summer of Cirque du Soleil
Cirque du Soleil is offering tickets as low as $50 for six of its resident shows. The shows include "KA," "Mystere," "Zumanity," "Believe," "Love" and Cirque’s newest show, "Viva Elvis."
Performance dates and seating vary by show with the $50 deal. Visit the Summer of Cirque website for more information or to order tickets.
The offer is valid from May 16 through the end of the summer.
'Lion King' tickets for locals
In honor of its first anniversary, “The Lion King” at Mandalay Bay is offering two-for-one tickets for locals.
Locals can either order tickets by calling the Mandalay Bay box office or purchasing them in person with a valid Nevada I.D. Locals can also order from the Mandalay Bay box office website with the code "CELEBRATE."
The promotion is good on tickets through June 20 but it needs to be booked by June 1.

I have yet to stay at the Sahara. For a buck a night I'll try it!
$ 50.00 for Cirque's "KA" is the BEST deal on the planet!!! I paid $150.00 per ticket x2 three years ago and the show was worth every cent!
Zumanity is awesome, but the Sahara is a dump. I used to do cable work for their property. The Alexandira and Tunis towers were awful.
Can't beat $1. I wonder how long until the Sahara closes down?
might have to go see LOVE for the third time at that price!
I can't live at home that cheap.
Way sit at home....walk to the strip with your overnite bag...eat,drink and be merry!! It's cheaper and certainly more fun
"...The hotel-casino will release a link and booking code to its followers during random 24-hour periods each month..."
What the heck does this mean? Does this mean that if I don't catch the booking code right after it is released, then I cannot get the $1.00 room rate.?
Sounds like a con to me.
1 dollar for the room , plus 15 dollar resort fee plus 15 dollars tax and utilitie surcharge?
Plus $10 for WiFi!
WOOT!
$1 is about $.50 cents to much.
SBE is screwed big time. There is not even a buffet at Sahara anymore. People will buy the $1 rooms and get a Harrah's city wide buffet pass. They probably won't even go into the casinos.
It's this sort of marketing desperation that suggests the Sahara won't be around too much longer.
SEEMS AS THOUGH THE BIG BOY IS DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR THE LAS VEGAS VISITOR AND THOSE WHO RESIDE THERE YEAR ROUND. I would gladly buy $1 buffet passes for a 50% discount at other hotels and $1 rooms. However I am sure there are other details to the package that are not revealed at this time.
