Cirque du Soleil is once again trying to show its appreciation for Las Vegas residents.
Cirque is offering tickets for $49 (plus taxes and fees) for four of its shows: KA, Mystere, Zumanity and Believe. The offer is valid on all performance days except for Saturdays. Seating with the $49 deal varies by show.
Locals can either call the hotel box offices and mention “Appreciation $49” or order online with the code given on the Web site. A valid Nevada driver’s license must be presented at the time of pick up.
The locals appreciation offer is valid through April 30.

"appreciation" = "not enough tourists"
Something long over due. Sorry but the specials in December did not convince people that you were really doing something to "appreciate" the locals. Just look at the Legends Show and how the prices for a show that has not done much different now than it has in 1994 - has jacked up prices over 40% in a 3 year period.
Love their shows, but this "appreciation" thing is something that should be done more often than just when you are hurting for tourists.
With the average theater ticket in the range of 175.00 exempting special promotions in house and package deals (citation, Dinner and Show 225.00 at 4 star restaurants) It is refreshing to know that value and reciprocity is extended to locals.Cirque has always maintained a full house in that respect.Survey the average tourist and each responds that they have enjoyed at least one show. The most discerning and difficult to capture is local discretionary spending.Having to make due with less over the last 2 years in terms of spending on personal entertainment, dining and gaming it is and attractive and affordable option. See you at the theater.
Gee, 4 years ago, I went to NY/NY to get a players card, and was told that because I was a local, my points expired in 28 days.
Then I went to the new Wynn, and was told I couldn't get a players card. I was given a blank temp card and told to put 500 points on it, and then I could get a real card.
Good. Now NY/NY sends me promotions for $42 a night, lower than Motel 6. Steve Wynn still hates locals, but let's wait and see as our national economy flounders.
The chickens have come home to roost.
Now that they're on their ass they suddenly "appreciate" locals. What a fraud.
Honestly, I wouldn't pay $49 if it included ALL 4 of those shows. With the exception of Love and O, the Cirque formula is tired and stale.
Well, considering the tourists aren't flocking to Vegas, it's a good idea to accommodate the people that live, work and play here.
I disagree By Logic. Ka and Mystere were excellent shows. Saw them both and would consider seeing them again, given the prices. Have no interest in Zumanity and Cris Angel (Believe) seems to carry too much baggage and bad publicity to peek my interest.
I've seen Ka twice and Mystere once. Didn't pay a dime and would have been pissed if I did. They ought rename them KaKa and Mistake. As I said, old and tired formula,
If these were "excellent" shows, there would be no discount. Notice that there's no "Locals Appreciation" for O and Love. I wonder why????????
I guess the naysayers are theater majors and know a good show when they see one. They just can't take art for what it is: a subjective media to express ones opinion. Whether you liked it or not is based on if you like art and can appreciate something different and new. Some people make it sound like Cirque was giving away gold and eternal youth if they watched their shows. If you don't like it chalk it up to a bad experience you can tell your friends about and move on.
It don't surprise me that Criss Angel BeLIEve is thrown in there for cheap tickets.
That show is so horrible, the management pipes in applause, handclaps and cheers through the speakers in back at the appropriate moments.
Criss Angel STILL exhibits absolutely no talent, has no ability to have a rapport with a paying audience, let alone entertain them and is unable to put together the flow of a show on the famous Las Vegas Strip in order to wow them; instead he puts them to sleep from boredom.
But still Cirque du Soleil aligns themselves with this douchebag. Because recouping their money is the sole intention. By continuing this wreck of a show, they clearly mean to take out their bad business decision on the paying public.
And now, since they can't get tourists to see this incredible train wreck, they try to entice locals in.
I guess when that doesn't work, they'll include plaid stamps, a Criss Angel autographed condom and a baseball cap (with complete instructions on various ways to wear it wrong).
UnbeLIEveable.
