I remember back when the Carnival World Buffet was a new thing and dinner was $20 there, which was a fair price. Now they are greedy and charging like $38 for dinner and its the same food they had back then. Now I take my friends and family when they are visiting to either one of the Stations Casinos buffets or to South Point Buffet. The food is just as good if not better, and the price is MUCH more reasonalbe.
A fair price you say, are food prices the same as back then? The buffets are in business to make money. A lot of people want something for nothing!

If I am wagering money in their casino, you can bet your ars I want my buffet for FREE!!!!
desert eagle - Of course food prices arent the same as they were back then but I know that they havent increased 100%!! And why are the locals buffets so much cheaper and the food isnt any different? Its just a matter of places like The Rio ripping off tourists. Plain and simple, which is why I take my visiting family and friends somewhere they wont get ripped off.
PS - "Fair Price" doesnt equate to "something for nothing"
Most of the hotels are ripping people off! Alot of the local buffets don't even come close to the variety and quality at the Rio. It's all a matter of choice! Environ the comment had nothing to do with gambling, but thanks for playing!
Seriously, The World Food Buffet is only 23.99 so your figure off 38 dollars is way off!!
don't confuse the same menu items with the same food quality that you had years ago. there is no such thing as "prime" rib at buffets or most hotel restaurants. all food quality has been sacrificed for cost-savings and still the prices are up.
I remamber going to the Carnival World Buffet many times when I worked in L.V. 15-16 years ago. It was a favorite. I think the cost was $12-13. We went to the Mirage once. Really great, but at a then expensive $18.00. Palace Station was our favorite, Ribs & shrimp on Mondays, It was $7.99 and 2 for one passes were fairly easy to come by. When we had little money, Circus Circus was really cheap. I'd say $23.99 this day in age is reasonable for Rio if it is still as good as it was in 1995. We don't do the buffets much anymore. I tend to find you can get a good steak dinner many places for near the same money and not have to deal with the crowds.
