Simplicity is the goal of Pogoplug and it looks like they have achieved it. Step 1: Connect external hard-drive to a Pogoplug. Step 2: Connect Pogoplug to your Internet router. That's all it takes to get complete access to your data from anywhere.

By logging on to a private account at the Pogoplug Web site you will have access to all of your data. Also through a Pogoplug account, users can select certain files they want to share with others.

A Pogoplug-connected hard drive can also show up on your computer as a normal drive with the help of a free application that works with either Mac or PC. Another application is available for the iPhone to give you access to your data from truly anywhere.

For developers, Pogoplug offers an API that will allow them to create their own applications to work with the Pogoplug.

The Pogoplug is set to be released this March and is available at a pre-sale price of $79. Pogoplug Web services come free with the purchase of a Pogoplug device.
