Elvis car unveiled at Dale Earnhardt Inc.

If my memory is correct, Tony Stewart once commented that Dale Earnhardt Inc. would become a museum without Dale Earnhardt Jr. Well, he was right. The shop that was once the racing headquarters for Dale Earnhardt Inc. is now a museum, an office and a souvenir shop. On Friday, the shop unveiled the Elvis car, a version of the famous No. 3 stock car with an image of Elvis Presley emblazoned on the hood. Here is today's New York Times story about the unveiling.

  1. How long do you suppose Teresa is going to continue to exploit her dead husband just to make a buck? How much money does she need before she will let him rest in peace?

  2. It's macabre.

  3. Profit aside, this article is worthless without a picture. No picture = It didn't happen.

  4. Did anyone actually read the NYT article? It describes the race shop as remaining with hopes of returning to at least Nationwide competition in the future. The reason for the article was the public roll out event of the new Camaro at DEI Chevrolet...life, and business, moves on.

The Elvis estate has made more cash from Elvis now that he's gone than it ever did while he was alive. The Earnhardt estate is saluting that and following the model, in addition to several traditional businesses.

  5. Doesn't make it right.

  6. Hey watchdat, who's getting hurt here? The people that you recently described as 'uneducated white trash'? If you don't like T. Earnhardt then don't visit the museum, don't buy a t-shirt at the track, don't buy a car at the car dealership, etc.

And she isn't the only one making a buck off of the late, great Dale Sr., either. You can boycott R. Childress and all of Na$car while you're at it.

  7. I won't visit the museum, I don't buy Earnhardt Sr. t-shirts at the track and I won't buy a car at the dealership. And now, according to you, I'm not allowed to have an opinion, either?

Funny, I thought thats what this area was for, to share opinions. Or is YOURS the only valid opinion?

  8. Nope, you're always entitled to your opinion and I don't see where I said you weren't...I was hoping you would elaborate as to what DEI Inc. is doing that isn't 'right'?

  9. i gots a fi'e dolla' bill! whare's muh white trash woman???
