Shelby 427 sketch pad

Surprisingly, the concession stand for Digger, Fox’s animated road-kill candidate, had more customers than the trailer for three-time champion Jimmie Johnson.

When your racecar and hauler are emblazoned with Ask.com, it could be a burden in the garage area.

When Martin Truex’s axle shaft broke loose and shot out from the center hub of the wheel, it looked like a James Bondesque automotive weapon.

Engine reliability was an issue all weekend. Were some of the teams taking chances with the engines in order to gain a little extra horsepower?

  1. The camera shots are great at times, but 'Digger' belongs on the Cartoon Network...if anywhere.

  2. Digger is insulting to all fans.

  3. This is good stuff! I wish you could do this after EVERY race.

And I agree with 24impala. FOX continues to insult race fans with its dumbed-down broadcasts.

  4. I guess Kurt can still say, "I got a Championship before you did!" But after that, forget it. Kyle, who is my man, is going to blow a lot of records to smitherines before he retires about 25 years from now. Jr. fans...tough!

  5. I have my doubts that Jr. even wants to compete with Busch?

  6. I just hope Kyle doesn't really go try Formula One liked he talked about this weekend. Even though he is an extremely talented driver, I don't think it would be a good move for him.

  7. They are great toons, Mike. Truex's (is that correct?) axle reminded me of the ancient movie Ben Hur chariot race scene.

  8. Thanks. Actually someone at the track did suggest that I use the Ben Hur reference. And I agree with PostRaceAura that moving to F1 would be a mistake for Kyle.
