Daytona 500 ads deliver laughs

The 50th running of the Daytona 500 attracted about a third fewer television viewers than the NFL's Super Bowl earlier this month, but Sunday's race outperformed Super Bowl XLII in at least one area.

The commercials offered during the Daytona 500 were far more entertaining than those offered during the Super Bowl.

Our favorite: Toyota's "fancontroller" spot, which showed children remotely operating out-of-control racecars, was hilarious and better than anything presented during the Super Bowl.

Honorable mention: The NAPA ad featuring Michael Waltrip and a fan who "customizes" Waltrip's die-cast cars and a spot by Home Depot on how Tony Stewart came to paint his car orange.

All of the 2008 Daytona 500 commercials can be viewed online.
