When Lesnar — who was a full 50 pounds larger than Couture — didn’t dwarf the UFC legend with his sheer body mass, the former World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler dominated the 45-year-old with his speed, strength, and of course, size. “They are some big-ass ham hocks coming at you,” said Couture, after losing his title via a second-round TKO at the hands of Lesnar’s specialty-made XXXXL-gloves.“I felt good. He’s just a big guy. He caught me with a big shot,” continued Couture, who thought he side-stepped Lesnar’s big right hook, but instead crumpled to the mat where he was greeted with at least two dozen more finishing blows.

Randy Couture returns to the octagon today after an absence of one year and three months prompted by a legal dispute, since settled, with the UFC regarding his pay. Couture insists he’s in top form after a 10-week training camp. “I’ve put together some new skills in the 15 months I’ve been off and I think you’re going to see some of that,” he said.

Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champ Randy Couture along with challenger Brock Lesnar took part in a public press conference that closed down the lobby of the MGM Grand on Thursday, November 13, 2008.
Alistair Overeem called it his "liver kick". Brock Lesnar just knew it hurt. Overeem sent Lesnar into retirement when he fired his foot into Lesnar's stomach midway through the first round of their heavyweight title eliminator bout. Lesnar crouched in pain after the strike and eventually fell to the mat. Overeem rushed in and threw a few more strikes, but Lesnar had nothing left. The referee pulled Overeem off to officialy give him the next shot at champion Junior dos Santos. In the co-main event, Nate Diaz upset Donald Cerrone after a week full of tempers flaring between the two lightweights.
