Letter to the Editor:

Be grateful for blessings we have

I love my country. Every day I get up and am thankful for our great country.

We have a right to free speech and a right to be whatever we dream to be. We should be proud of our universities and our trade schools. We should fight for democracy and our country.

Lots of people do this in a respectful and kind way, such as President Joe Biden. It is really hard for him to be mean.

Students on elite campuses should be doing this. There are thousands of ways they can get together and talk. Ruining campus property, saying “death to America” and burning the flag only begets hate.

These students’ parents should call them and tell them how lucky they are. Put down the phones, go to class and be kind to one another. Be thankful you have a safe place to be; diversity is our strength.

To find solutions, start by dropping the guns and the meanness, and if you have an important job (Congress), go across the aisle and shake hands.

The United States did not start any war currently being waged. Biden says he cares about all people, and he does.
